ROLLOUT Dance Film Archive
Dear Filmmaker,
Thank you for your support to the previous editions of ROLLOUT Dance Film Festival. Your film has made various ROLLOUT programs possible and allowed us to extend their reach to local exhibitions and international exchange screenings. We believe each ROLLOUT finalist and selection dance film has represented a piece of the cultural fabric of our time and should be kept in a retrievable collection. Therefore, we want to invite you to be part of the ROLLOUT Dance Film Archive.
Archive Exhibition during the 3rd Edition of ROLLOUT 1 Jan - 10 Jan, 2021
The advent of dance film making is much earlier than the inauguration of ROLLOUT in 2016. With the passing of time, it is important for the public to always remember the ongoing evolution of the practice, the structure of feeling at the time of filmmaking and the quality works which brought the art to come so far today. In the coming edition of ROLLOUT, with the intention to always refresh the presence of previous quality works alongside current ones and allowing the audience to retrieve ROLLOUT dance films in the past, we are opening the ROLLOUT Dance Film Archive for access at the Casa Garden Macao from 1 Jan - 10 Jan, 2021. During this period, the audience can retrieve and watch films from the previous "Macao Dance Film Pulse" Collections, "ROLLOUT Awards Winners" Collections, "ROLLOUT Awards Finalists" Collections, and "ROLLOUT Official Selection" Collections at the Archive Exhibition area. The audience can browse through the Archive on the venue's iPads and computers, while loop projection will be casted onto the venue's installation. We sincerely invite you to be part of this Archive Exhibition and authorise us to exhibit your film in it during the Festival period.
Online Archive after the 3rd edition of ROLLOUT, from Feb 2021 on
In addition to the Archive Exhibition during the Festival, we are also taking the ROLLOUT Dance Film Archive online after the Festival, starting from Feb 2021. The evolving online presence of the dance film industry has inspired us to expand the reach of our archive collection to a wider global audience and let more people watch, discuss, and exchange their views on dance films, regardless of their physical locations. The online Archive will be displayed on the Vimeo on Demand platform and the online access to it will be a paid service. The online audience will purchase a time-limited pass to access all films in the database.
The net profit (after Vimeo on Demand service fees and tax) generated from this service will be shared between ROLLOUT and the participating films. 50% of the net profit will be used by ROLLOUT for promoting dance film creations and sustaining the Archive operation, with the intention to build a bigger dance film community and, in the long term, support more commissioned dance film projects. Another 50% of the net profit will be divided among each participating film based on a pro-rata system, so that each of the participating film will receive an amount in proportion to the total number of streams it receives. With this expanding screening network, it is important for us to know if you would like your film to participate in this online Archive and authorise ROLLOUT to put it online for the international audience (or audience in specific geographical areas).
To confirm your participation in the Archive Exhibition during the Festival, and/or in the online Archive after the Festival, we would like to invite you to fill out the form below. This is an important step for your film to proceed to our current Archive Exhibition and future online Archive because the ROLLOUT Dance Film Festival will only be granted the rights to use your film, the relevant texts and stills etc. submitted to the Festival if you have sent your consent to us.
By clicking the "SUBMIT" button in the form below, the submitting entity ensures that they have been granted the legal rights to use all copyrighted elements such as music, texts, images, performances, digital elements etc. in the video, so that all elements in the submitted video can be used by ROLLOUT Dance Film Festival at its Archive Exhibition, online Archive and in its promotional materials. If any copyrights infringement or related disputes are caused by showing the video to anyone, the submitting entity should bear the sole responsibility for the settlement of the infringement.
