ROLLOUT Dance Film Festival
Open Call for Submission
ROLLOUT Dance Film Festival is taking place from 25 Nov to 18 Dec 2016, featuring selection screenings, focus talks, workshops and screening tours. With these activities, it seeks to create a dance film platform in Macao to explore the many faces of dance videography and bridge dancers with video artists, dance films with the public, artistic organisations with their like, as well as dance film creations with other platforms. The platform allows its members to exchange dialogues and integrate all possible discussions and developments of dance videography with one another.
The term rollout signifies the action of “creating something for the first time", and the word roll is not uncommon in the worlds of videography or dance – as in “Camera rolling!” in a film shoot or dance action phrases like “Roll up your body!”. Taking "ROLLOUT” as the title of this Dance Film Festival, we wish to inspire more artistic creations with vitality and collaborations with enthusiasm while simultaneously encourage budding artists to boost organic creativity, so that the video artists, dance artists and the audience can all enjoy the art form at the same time.
ROLLOUT Dance Film Festival is now calling for international submission until 1 November, 2016. Accepted entries will be included in both the public screening session as well as the campaign session, in which the the ROLLOUT Dance Film Jury Award, the ROLLOUT Jury Recommendation Award, and the ROLLOUT Audience Choice Award will be given. All accepted entities will also be considered automatically for the Jury's selection for recommendation to other international dance films festivals and platforms. Roll your talent out!
